Exploration, Play, and Building Confidence

Our toddler program is thoughtfully designed to support this exciting stage of growth—when children are learning to walk, talk, explore, and express themselves.

Toddlers thrive in an environment that balances structure and freedom, and we provide a warm, nurturing, home-like setting where children feel safe, confident, and curious as they grow.

Our Approach to Toddler Learning

Our toddler program follows a play-based, educator-guided learning approach, enriched with age-appropriate themed activities that support development across all areas.

Through guided play and everyday routines, toddlers naturally build:

  • Social and emotional skills

  • Language and early communication

  • Cognitive development and problem-solving

  • Curiosity, independence, and self-confidence

Learning happens naturally as children explore their world through play.

Supporting Independence & Routine

Communication With Families

We value strong partnerships with families and believe open, consistent communication is essential.

To help parents feel connected and informed, we use the Daily Connect app, an easy-to-use online platform that allows families to receive real-time updates throughout the day. When activities are logged, parents can see them right away, and by the end of the day (around 6:00 PM), families receive a daily summary of their child’s day.

Parents receive:

  • Daily updates on activities, including photo collages or short videos

  • Notes about their child’s day, including meals, naps, and diapering or potty use

  • Ongoing communication about development, progress, and milestones

In addition to the app, parents are always welcome to text me directly if they have personal questions or messages they prefer to share privately and not post in the app.

Play, Exploration & Themed Activities

Toddlers participate in a variety of engaging, hands-on activities designed to support growth and learning, including:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Music, singing, and movement

  • Story time and early literacy

  • Sensory play and hands-on exploration

  • Outdoor play (weather permitting)

Themes are introduced to spark interest and creativity, while remaining flexible and responsive to each child’s developmental stage and individual needs.

Our day follows a gentle, predictable rhythm that balances play, learning, rest, and connection, while remaining flexible to meet each child’s needs.

A typical day includes:

  • Morning free play and hands-on activities

  • Group time, songs, stories, and themed learning experiences

  • Snack time, outdoor play, and movement

  • Lunch followed by rest or quiet time

  • Afternoon activities, sensory play, and exploration

  • Snack, calm play, and pick-up time

This flexible routine allows us to meet each child’s individual needs while maintaining a calm, well-structured day.

A Small, Home-Based Environment

Our home-based daycare setting offers:

  • Small group sizes

  • Consistent caregivers

  • Warm, attentive supervision

This allows toddlers to form strong relationships, practice social skills, and feel secure as they grow more independent.

Older toddlers also learn to be gentle, patient, and caring toward younger children, fostering empathy and kindness in a mixed-age environment.
